Global Executive Committe

Global Executive Committee

The Global Executive Committee is the highest decision-making body of the International Tamil Engineers Forum (ITEF). It steers strategy across all chapters worldwide, sets policy, approves the annual programme of work, and oversees the financial health of the Forum.

Role & Mandate

The Committee meets quarterly and is responsible for:

  • Setting the strategic direction of ITEF across all regions in which the Forum operates.
  • Approving the annual budget, audited accounts, and major programme allocations.
  • Chartering new chapters and approving chapter-level office-bearer slates.
  • Endorsing flagship initiatives — conferences, awards, mentorship programmes, scholarship funds, and tender exchanges.
  • Representing the Forum to industry councils, professional bodies, and government partners.

Composition

The Committee is led by the Chairman, supported by the Vice Chairman, General Secretary, Treasurer, Joint Secretary, and Executive Director. Chapter Chairs from every active country chapter hold ex-officio seats, ensuring regional concerns are represented at every Committee meeting. The Advisory Council provides counsel on long-range matters.

You can see the current members of the Global Executive Committee on the Leadership page.

How decisions are made

Resolutions are passed by simple majority of those present. Strategic decisions — new chapter charters, constitutional amendments, capital commitments above the prescribed threshold — require a two-thirds majority. All resolutions are recorded in the Committee minutes and published to members through the member portal within fourteen days of each meeting.
