Three ITEF members were named among this year's honourees at the GCC Engineering Excellence Awards 2026 ceremony in Manama, Bahrain — a recognition programme jointly run by the Bahrain Society of Engineers, the Saudi Council of Engineers, and partner institutions across the GCC.

The honoured members and their projects:

• Senior Project Engineer, Desalination Programme — recognised in the Sustainability in Engineering category for delivering a 200,000 m³/day reverse-osmosis plant with industry-leading energy efficiency, deployed across two GCC sites in 2025.
• Lead Systems Architect, Smart Infrastructure Division — honoured in the Digital Transformation category for an integrated traffic-and-utilities operations platform now active in three GCC capitals.
• Director of Energy Storage — winner in the Renewable Innovation category for grid-scale battery storage commissioning that materially reduced peak-load fossil generation in 2025.

All three honourees are members of the ITEF Kuwait and Saudi Arabia chapters, with combined GCC tenure exceeding fifty years.

"These three projects are exactly the kind of work that anchors Tamil engineering reputation in the region," commented the ITEF Chairman. "Beyond the awards, each of these projects continues to deliver measurable economic and environmental returns — that is what excellence actually looks like."
